Cats are known for being rather picky. This also holds true for their litter box! Make sure your cat’s box is placed properly so that she isn’t forced to go elsewhere. Learn more here from a vet in Fort Collins, CO.
Far From Food
When a cat’s food dishes and litter box are placed in close proximity, she may shun her food and water or avoid the litter box entirely. Just like you, your cat doesn’t want to do her business close to where she eats! Place these items away from each other to be safe.
It’s all too easy for a screen door or other physical obstacle to block of your cat’s access to the box. You must make sure that your cat can get to her bathroom at all times, even when you’re not home.
Would you enjoy using the bathroom in a crowded, noisy area? Of course not, and neither does your feline friend. Cats don’t like to be disturbed when using the litter box, so place it somewhere that is quiet and calm, without a lot of human traffic.
